听力练习中对语音连读的判断技巧

I: Why should companies be ethical or what are the advantages of a company in behaving ethically?
CB: Mm, I think the whole issue of ethics is a very complex one. Companies are made up of people....blah, blah...

该段中CB的回答从音上判断似乎是/hou'lisju:/（对应于句中的the whole issue of），给听音者来来判断上的麻烦。

对此处的分析应着眼于两点：

• 将听到的发音记录下来，如上面的/hou'lisju:/，并且记录下除此以外该句的其它可确定的单词；
• 根据语法及上下文进行判断。

利用句子结构和语法，可做如下分析：i think后跟从句（that可省略），则从句必定是完整形态，具有主、谓等部分，那么在此句中，容易听清的是后半句，即从句的谓、表部分；在从句的表语部分中出现了代词one，因此判断前半段必然有one的原词；再根据句意、上下文可知该段对话是在讲一个“问题”、一个“事情”，判断出one所对应的原词应当是issue；最后，由上下文语境分析出/hou'lisju:/这个连读所对应的应当是the whole issue。
