1、For there to be successful communication ,there must be attentiveness and involvement in the discussion itself by all present.
句中的by是什么意思？for引导的应该是一个目的状语从句吧，像这种“介词+不定式/名词”应该通常都是作状语，可放句首或句末，而且放在句首时后面的逗号可有可无，不知道理解得对不对。
比如：At that time ,it is the bigest one .=It is the bigest one at that time.

(1)对，for引导目的状语从句
(2)可以这样理解，但通常加逗号比较普遍
(3)关于by，意思相当于with respect to; with regard to，表示之前提及的事/物与某某有关，例如你这例句（顺利成功的沟通必须要大家伙儿关注参与讨论）中by是跟discussion，就是指所有在场的人(all present)参与的讨论。另外一种理解就是把by理解为被动中的by，即discussion是“被”all进行的。
